Some cold hard truths to all whiny Twins fans

Cry me a river. I have to say, I read an article by a Minnesota fan complaining about the fact that the Indians had 5 All Stars and the Twins only had one and blasting Torre. (Umm...they are selected by the players, coaches, and managers, NOT by Torre anymore. Catch up to the new rules of the All-Star game...the game that matters.)

Arguably, Johan Santana from the Twins is deserving. But just as arguably, 313, 10 home runs, 61 RBI) and left-hander Cliff Lee (9-1, 3.77 ERA) should be there. And no other team in baseball has a bullpen that has blown 21 games. (And no bullpen pitchers made it!) So if you take those 21 games and add them to their record, they are WAY ahead of everyone else in the Central. Actually, for those not mathmatically inclined, it would put the Indians at 63-24 -- the best team in baseball. By far (7 games over the Yankess, the current best team, and 17 games over the Sox, currently leading the Central.)

It's so not fair to look at records and say that this isn't a good team. Humbug! This is a team with an AWFUL bullpen, simply horrific (capable of blowing a six run lead in the ninth inning...twice). BUT...a team with great starting pitching (otherwise they would not be winning for the bullpen to blow the saves). 4th in the league in hitting (up from 13th from last year), and near the top in starting pitching. How can you say with those stats, that the players DON'T deserve to make the all-star team, you whiny Twins fans?? In fact, the Yankees are the only team in baseball with more All Stars than the Indians. (Though Texas also has five.) In fact, the Indians are the first AL team with a losing record to have five All-Stars since the 1972 Royals. That was before I was born even! And I'm old now! And older than almost every player on the Indians - they are all kids!
