It's the end of the world as we know it...

Politics, philosophy, the law, current events, left leaning debates, religion, baseball, football, pop culture, growing up Greek, random events in my life...whatever hits my mind at the time.

The many faces of Bush

Looks like Bin Laden is still causing trouble. Does anyone remember Bush's "The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." speech on September 13, 2001. Or the "Wanted: Dead or Alive," speech a few days later?? Oh, but then I remember the "I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." and stating that he wasn't concerned about him in March of 2002.** (Do you wonder if Bush was bad at hide and seek too and was one of those kids who cried and quit when he was the seeker and couldn't find anyone? Or is that just me?) Oh, then I remember! I was told that the bad person who was helping Bin Laden and had all these WMD was Hussein!! Of course, then it turns out that he wasn't and he didn't...but Bin Laden is still around causing trouble. Great focus! Great switching of priorities. Great way to make the American public forget that Bin Laden was still causing trouble. Way to go.

**Somewhere in all of this was his "Bin Laden is not escaping us because he was in country of a country a few months ago and now he's on the run and is in charge of a cave" speech. It's the same one as "the objective is more than Bin Laden" speech, but before the March timeframe b/c I think he was still talking about getting and keeping him running and then bringing him to justice. So it had to be after the September time frame but before the March time frame.
