Isn't This How The Patriot Act Got Passed Too??
Don't like the idea of hand grenades in elementary schools? Then stay out of Arizona. Yesterday, the Arizona House of Representatives voted for a firearm free-for-all, passing a bill which will let people "carry weapons - includingguns, grenades, rockets, mines and sawed-off shotguns- into schools, polling places and nuclear plants if they claim they're only trying to protect themselves." The legislation was the brainchild of Rep. Doug Quelland (R-Phoenix). The problem? Quelland never actually read the legislation before pulling together support to get it passed. In an interview, Quelland said "he had no idea the legislation, crafted by constituents he wouldn't identify, was so broad that it would provide a catchall exemption in the state's weapons laws."
University Research at its Finest “There are gender role issues here,” says Prof. Mary Valentich of the University of Calgary in Alta., Canada. She wants to study why female fans expose their breasts in the stands at hockey games. Yet “some women didn’t do it,” she points out. “Some women chose to cross over the boundary, others didn’t. What was the difference?” (Canadian Press) ...Indeed, we must understand this resistance so it can be broken. Available in This is True: Book Collection Vol. 11

Why do I have a feeling that one of tomorrow's headlines will be, "Arizona kid shoots bully at school"?
Never underestimate the stupidity of Republicans, I guess.
